Written & directed by actor-playwright-poet Piyush Mishra in 1994, Gagan Damama bajyo is a musical play that showcases the inspiring life story of one of India's most celebrated freedom fighters and revolutionaries,  shaheed Bhagat Singh. The play includes revolutionary, passionate and gut wrenching songs written and composed by Mr. Mishra to melodically express the sentiments of our freedom struggle.  It explores all the varied human elements of Bhagat Singh's life, and breaks  the fundamentalist image of him that people currently overuse. It show him as a friend, a son, a lover and an intellectual,  who found himself unable to sit back in a country fighting for its freedom from oppression.
