Written by Yasmina Reza
Translated by Christopher Hampton
Produced By Jiji Subi
Art Direction- Avantika Kampani
Dubbed as “The funniest play on Broadway” by the New York Times
And “The perfect West End play” by The Independent (U.K.)
The original play ART ran successfully on Broadway and the West End and was awarded the Tony Award for Best Play, The Lawrence Oliver award (Best Comedy) among several others.
The play deals with three men, Serge, Marc, and Yvan, who have been friends for over 15 years.
Serge buys a large and very expensive painting for 200,000 francs. However, the canvas is completely white with just a few white lines.
Marc hates it and calls it a “piece of white sh#t”
Yvan, tries his level best to be the peacemaker in the situation, to little success.
The evening gets crazier and more bizarre with every minute that passes.
Hilarious comedy, witty one-liners, nasty remarks, and clever dialogues make this a thoroughly enjoyable one and a half hours at the theatre.
